Fuel filter’s function is to clean fuel from dirt, small particles and other foreign objects falling into the tank along with it. The absence of a filter can lead to clogging of fuel system components, engine malfunction and reduce lifespan of injection device and a fuel pump.

Some models come with heating for preventing the formation of paraffins in the fuel at low temperatures.

Checking the fuel filter is conducted during a planned inspection. The element service life averages 20-60 thousand kilometers, depending on the type of the fuel system. Late replacement can lead to failure of the fuel pump, injection system and other expensive items.

• loose the fastenings and dismantle the old part;
• install a new filter and make sure there are no leaks in the joints;
• first connect the relay and then the battery terminals;
• start the engine and check correct operation.
